This piece has changed my view on art. I was walking in the garden and suddenly this image struck me in my spirit. I saw and knew i had to use burnt wood in a circle on a huge canvas. I imediatly ran into the studio, stretched out 5m of canvas on the whole floor, threw white paint on it and black charcoal. After i lifted up the painting a few days later i wanted to let it have an impression on me and to name the artwork as i usually do. This time it was different. As if something restricted me from naming it, not allowing me to even touch it. I struggled for a few days because i have always named my paintings but finally accepted and let the painting „unknown“. I did´t choose untitled on purpose because i know it has a title, it´s just that i don´t know it and maybe never will.

Why did it change the way i work? First of all, art comes from the spiritual realm, and as soon as i am struck by an impression or idea i try to do it as fast as i can. If i can´t, it may be gone forever. Secoundly, this artwork is unknown, and it´s relieving for me as an artist to just let the painting exist. It may speak to you something that i didn´t ever intended or planned but that´s how it should be. By defining it, i reduce it to my words and impressions or experience.
